• An On-campus interview has been scheduled for the students of Department of Electrical and Electrical Engineering and Department of Mechanical Engineering on 10th April 2021 for DaejungMoparts Pvt Ltd, Chennai. 50 students from both the department were attended the interview and around 10 students were selected and job offer letters were issued on the same day and students joined the company on the next working day.

ORIENTATION PROGRAMME – THE PASSION ON ENTREPRENEURSHIP

Mechanical Engineering Students Association (MESA) in association with ISTE students chapter,conducted orientation programme “THE PASSION ON ENTREPRENEURSHIP” on 12 th July 2019.Dr.D.Ommurugadhasan HOD, Mechanical Department welcomed the gathering. Resource persons were Mr.Anbarasu Mahadevan, President, World Youth Federation and Mr. Nizamudeen Yunus, Founder of Vini Vidi Vici School of Training, Chennai. Both of them encouraged the students to become entrepreneurs, so that they become independent and able to stand on their feet. 

AWARENESS PROGRAM ON SELF EMPLOYMENT

The department of Mechanical Engineering of St Anne’s College of Engineering and Technology organized an awareness program on Self Employment, on 10 th September 2019.Mrs.A.Lekshmi, Deputy Director, District Industries Centre, Cuddalore explained in detail,how to get loan from government. She described the schemes available and how to make use of it. All loans are getting 25% subsidy. Only non farmer loans are available through these schemes.This program is an eye opener to students.

• A guest lecture on “Alternative Fuels” was presented by Dr. A. P. Sathyagnanam, Assistant Professor, Department of Mechanical Engineering, Annamalai University, Chidambaram for the students of Mechanical Engineering at St. Anne’s College of Engineering and Technology on 29th August, 2018. 

• A one day workshop on “Industrial Product Design & Reverse Engineering” was conducted by Mr. Sai, Vector Solutions, Pondicherry for II year students of Mechanical Engineering at St. Anne’s College of Engineering and Technology on 30th July, 2018.

• A training Program was conducted by Mr.S.Sivaperumal, Managing Director, Shri Sai NDT, Pondicherry for IV year students of Mechanical Engineering at St. Anne’s College of Engineering and Technology on 04th September, 2018.

• A workshop on Mechanical Softwares such as CAD, AutoCAD, Catia, and Ansys was conducted by Mr. N. Kumar, CAD Global, Villupuram for III and IV year students of Mechanical Engineering at St. Anne’s College of Engineering and Technology on 07th September, 2018.

• A motivational program was conducted by the Department of Mechanical Engineering, in association with “Jesuit Ministry to Alcohol and Drug Dependents”, Nagercoil for the students of Mechanical Engineering on “Health Awareness”, on 26th September, 2018

• Mr.  K. Shanmuga Elango, Associate Professor and Mr. P. Murugan, Assistant professor participated in a National level workshop on “Recent Development in Renewable Energy Technologies” organized by Department of Mechanical Engineering & Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR) at SRM University, Ramapuram Campus, Chennai from 27th to 29th September, 2018.

CAD workshop for II-year mechanical students was conducted by VECTOR SOLUTIONS, PONDICHERRY on 6/8/2017.Basic ideas of CAD were learned by the students and it was very useful

Mr. T.Elangovan presented a paper titled “Observe the Calorific Value of Distinct Biomasses Production from The Waste of Biogas Production Plant” at the National conference held at St Anne’s CET on 28th March 2019.  

A seminar was conducted by Mr.T.Elangovan, AP/Mech on “Placements opportunities in Public sector and state government” at St Anne’s College of Engineering and Technology on 11th February 2019.He had oriented the students the way to get a government job.
