A space to read, learn and research
The Central Library of St. Anne's College of Engineering and Technology is housed on the ground floor of the Annai Annammal Block, with a total area of about 529.38 m² and seating for 100. It holds a rich collection of books across disciplines for issue and reference — 13,937 volumes of 5,995 titles, 432 back volumes of journals, 837 non-book materials and 379 project reports.
We subscribe to 24 international and 24 national periodicals for regular reading, along with e-journals and magazines that members can reference online. The library is computerised with bar-coding to speed up service.

Book Bank Scheme
The Book Bank Scheme is run for economically backward, needy and meritorious students of SANCET, on a first come, first served basis.
- Bonafide students of SANCET are eligible to get books from the book bank.
- An application, once accepted, is valid for one full semester.
- Issue of books is subject to availability; books are issued to the students only.
- Keep the books neat and tidy — wrap them with brown sheet to avoid damage.
- Produce your college ID card whenever you visit the book bank.
- The application form is available in the library at a cost of ₹2.
- Students must have passed all subjects in the examination; otherwise books will not be issued.
- Use books with utmost care. For torn pages, writing or marking, or loss, replace the book with a new, latest copy or pay double the cost of the book plus any penalty.
- Return books immediately after the examination; otherwise a fine of ₹2 per day per book applies.

Membership
All staff and students of SANCET are active members of the Central Library. Books are issued using bar-coded ID cards.

Reference Service
An excellent reading hall with reference books, handbooks and dictionaries for reference.
Photocopy Service
Photocopying with a digital copier and network printer.
Current Awareness Service
24 international and 24 national periodicals, DELNET e-journals, 2 newspapers and 3 magazines for regular reading.
Online Reference
A digital library with 25 computer terminals to browse e-journals and e-books. Search books by author, title, publisher or any word through OPAC Plus.
Library Rules
Issue & Return
- Two books are issued to students and non-teaching members for 14 days; five books to faculty members for 30 days.
- Reference books, encyclopaedias, handbooks, dictionaries, periodicals, project reports and back volumes are not issued.
- Check books for damage or marking before leaving the counter and report it immediately; otherwise the borrower is responsible.
Renewal
- Two renewals are permitted if there are no reservations against the book.
- Books must be presented physically at the counter to be renewed with a new date stamp.
- Absence is not accepted as an excuse for delay in return or renewal.
Return of Books
- Return or renew books on or before the due date marked on the date slip.
- An overdue charge of ₹1 per day is collected for late returns.
Loss of Books
- Report a lost book to the library immediately and replace it with a new copy, along with any overdue charges.
- If the book cannot be replaced, a penalty of twice its cost plus overdue charges is levied.
No Due
- All students must obtain a No Due from the library before the university examinations.
- Staff members leaving the college must settle all dues and obtain a No Due from the Librarian.
E-Resources
SANCET library subscribes to DELNET for e-journals and e-books that support the academic work of students and staff. National Digital Library and a DSpace repository are also provided.
